A 54-year-old man from Pekin has been officially recognized as the individual deceased in a remote area of Peoria County on Saturday. This confirmation was issued by the local coroner’s office.
Around 7:54 PM on Saturday, Illinois State Police were dispatched to a motor vehicle incident on U.S. Route 24 near Glasford Road, where a medical emergency was reported.
When officers arrived, they discovered a passenger vehicle submerged in a ditch, with an unconscious male occupant showing no signs of life, such as breathing or a heartbeat.
Emergency medical services from the Peoria area arrived immediately and commenced resuscitative efforts. The man was pronounced deceased at the scene around 10:22 PM by the county coroner.
Examination revealed no apparent injuries or trauma on the deceased, and the vehicle itself showed no signs of harm or damage.
