Fatal Lake Wedowee boat crash death of Dale M. Webb
A man was killed Thursday night when two boats collided on Lake Wedowee. Dale M. Webb, who was 74 years old and from Georgia’s Carrollton, died as a result of the accident, which authorities confirmed around 8 p.m.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Marine Patrol Division reported that Webb was piloting a 1995 Stratos bass boat. He crashed into a 2024 Veranda tri-toon boat driven by Micah Cornett, a 51-year-old resident of Wedowee. Cornett was not injured in the incident.
Webb’s passenger, Berlin Owens, who is 73 and from Woodland, was injured during the collision. He was airlifted to Wellstar Kennesaw Medical Center for medical attention.
The accident happened near Highway 48, at the junction where Little River and Big River meet in Randolph County. No additional details about the incident have been released.
