The Peoria County Coroner, Jamie Harwood, officially identified Candace Bumbalough, a 45-year-old, as one of the deceased. Separately, 16-year-old Charlotte “Charli” Bumbalough, a junior enrolled at Pekin Community High School, was pronounced deceased at the scene on the morning of Saturday. The precise nature of the connection between Charlotte and Candace Bumbalough remains uncertain.
The accident transpired shortly before 8 a.m., involving a sport utility vehicle, a pickup truck, and a motorhome. Pekin Community High School has extended its sympathies through a statement via social media, expressing condolences to those affected by the tragic event and highlighting the significance of mutual support during challenging periods.
