Utah Highway Patrol officials have confirmed the identity of the individual killed in the weekend traffic incident on the I-84 corridor in Morgan. The deceased has been identified as 52-year-old Deziree Dawn Rinquest, who resided in South Jordan.
According to official statements from the patrol division, the fatal collision began at precisely 10:32 a.m. on Sunday. A Jeep Grand Cherokee, which was heading westbound on the interstate, departed from its lane and collided with a stationary semitruck located on the emergency shoulder. Following this impact, the Jeep was subsequently struck by a passing Chevrolet Silverado.
Injuries sustained during the chain of events led to the hospitalization of both individuals inside the Jeep Grand Cherokee. Troopers disclosed that Rinquest was a passenger in the initial collision and was transported to a medical facility. While the passenger’s condition was reported as deceased, no immediate updates were provided regarding the health status of the driver at this time.
Emergency responders evaluated all other parties involved in the incident, including occupants of the semitruck and the Silverado.
