Fatal Toms River car crash death of Ashli Crespo and Vanessa Orozco-Carbagas
TOMS RIVER – The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office has confirmed the identities of the two women killed in the September 11th Hooper Avenue collision. The victims were 28-year-old Ashli Crespo, a Toms River resident, and 36-year-old Vanessa Orozco-Carbagas.
Crespo was operating a Toyota RAV4 at the time of the incident, which occurred around 8:45 p.m. The investigation revealed that a 46-year-old man crossed into the grass median before striking her vehicle. The impact resulted in Crespo’s car rolling onto its side near Fischer Boulevard.
Orozco-Carbagas was a passenger in the Chevrolet Equinox driven by the same 46-year-old man. Tragically, the child passenger in the Equinox, a four-year-old boy, and the driver sustained injuries but were discharged from the hospital after receiving treatment.
As the probe continues, authorities have indicated that no charges have been filed at this time.
