Fatal Tucson car crash victims: Manuel Encinas and Juan Encinas
The Arizona Department of Public Safety has officially identified the individuals killed in the serious traffic accident on Interstate 19 as Manuel Encinas, aged 56, and his 35-year-old son, Juan Encinas. According to reports, Juan Encinas was driving the vehicle involved in the incident.
Detailed accident information reveals that the Chevy Silverado being operated by Juan Encinas experienced a tire failure, causing it to veer off the road. The vehicle subsequently crossed into the median area and began to overturn in the southbound direction of the highway. DPS confirmed that the car eventually came to rest upside down on top of another vehicle.
Both Manuel and Juan Encinas were ejected from their vehicle during the accident and unfortunately sustained fatal injuries as a result. This tragic event led to the closure of southbound I-19 at the San Xavier Road intersection.
Earlier reports from emergency services indicated that a multi-vehicle collision occurred on the roadway, with four vehicles involved in the crash. Paramedics responding to the scene transported four injured individuals to the hospital for medical treatment. The emergency crew received information from witnesses that one vehicle lost control before rolling over.
Traffic management authorities, ADOT, have since confirmed that northbound and southbound lanes of I-19 are now fully open after initial closures due to the accident. Drivers are advised to consider alternative routes in case of future incidents.
Emergency responders from the Santa Rita Fire Department were among the first to arrive at the scene, working alongside other agencies to manage the situation and provide necessary assistance to those involved.
The ongoing investigation aims to determine the full circumstances surrounding this fatal incident. As of now, the priority remains honoring the lives lost and supporting those affected by this tragic event.
