At approximately 10:30 p.m. on Friday, September 5, law enforcement personnel were dispatched to a collision near the intersection of US Highway 24 and 26th Street. According to police, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and did not survive the impact. The deceased has been identified as Jeremy Ives, a 28-year-old individual.

Multiple agencies, including the Colorado State Patrol, the Colorado Springs Police Department, and the Colorado Springs Fire Department, responded to the incident. The driver involved in the collision was initially at large but was subsequently located by authorities. Police officials have indicated that alcohol consumption was a contributing factor in this tragic event.

As a result, Cameron Walsh has been taken into custody by the Colorado Springs Police Department. Walsh faces several charges, including vehicular homicide, driving under the influence (DUI), hit-and-run, and operating a vehicle while his license was revoked.

The Ives family has been notified of their son’s tragic passing.
