The Orange County medical examiner confirmed that 32-year-old Kevin Zavala died when he lost consciousness on the ride. According to the medical examiner’s office, his death was ruled an accident resulting from multiple injuries sustained when he made contact with a hard surface.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the Stardust Racers attraction on Wednesday evening following reports of an incident. Theme park safety experts have described the ride as an extreme experience known for its high speeds and unique track layout.
A ride safety advisory notes this attraction is a high-speed coaster featuring inversions and sudden acceleration. Precautionary guidelines advise against riding for individuals with certain medical conditions, expectant mothers, or those experiencing back pain.
