Authorities in Winston-Salem have formally accused Jaheim Bennett, a 22-year-old local man, with the homicide of the 27-year-old woman, Destiny Tucker. Officials report that Ms. Tucker was discovered shot inside her residence located on Cullent Street back on September eleventh. It has been indicated that the accused, Mr. Bennett, was acquainted with the deceased.
Further details released by the police indicate that Mr. Bennett is currently facing multiple criminal charges beyond the murder accusation. These include three felony counts and one misdemeanor charge. The specific charges detailed involve unlawfully possessing a weapon that he is prohibited from having, acquiring a firearm that was taken without authorization, and possessing a regulated substance with the purpose of selling it for profit. Additionally, the authorities noted a separate charge of evading law enforcement personnel, which occurred when Mr. Bennett attempted to elude capture during the police operation to apprehend him.
Separately, it has been announced that law enforcement agencies in New York have warrants pending against Mr. Bennett for three additional criminal violations.
