Fatal Multnomah County car crash death of Jeffrey Allen Flood
Emergency services rushed to a collision on Oregon’s Highway 84 near mile marker 24 shortly after dawn on September 20th, 2025. Police officials from the state are confirming the identity of the man killed in the incident, naming him 40-year-old Jeffrey Allen Flood.
Investigators with Oregon State Police arrived at the scene around 3:49 in the morning. They discovered that a BMW X3 had traveled against the current, moving westbound within the eastbound lanes. This resulted in a direct impact with a Tesla Model Y vehicle.
The involved Tesla became completely surrounded by flames, as reported by the police department. Flood, the driver of the Tesla, was pronounced deceased at the site of the accident.
The driver of the BMW also sustained serious injuries and was transported to a medical facility via ambulance.
The ongoing investigation led to a major traffic interruption on the highway, which was halted for approximately five hours on the day of the incident. The full extent of the cause behind the wrong-way travel is still under examination by authorities.
