A man identified as Lance Bolenbaugh, aged 48, has passed away following a multi-vehicle accident reported late on Sunday morning in Paulding County, Indiana. The incident occurred near the intersection of State Route 637 and County Route 138.
The Indiana State Police were dispatched to the scene around midday on Monday. According to reports, the collision involved three individuals: a female driver, a teenage passenger, and a separate motorcyclist. The teenager was following the woman, who was driving north on SR 637. The woman slowed down to make a left turn. The teenager, however, did not manage to stop in time and swerved to avoid a potential hit on her vehicle.
This evasive maneuver resulted in the teenager’s car striking the woman’s vehicle from the side. While performing this dodge, the teenager lost control and collided head-on with the motorcyclist traveling in the opposite direction.
Lance Bolenbaugh, the motorcyclist, was pronounced deceased at the location of the accident. The teenager suffered some minor injuries, and the female driver was not reported to be injured. The Indiana State Police are reminding the public about the dangers of distracted driving following this incident.
