On the previous day, specifically Saturday, law enforcement from the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office addressed a shooting event at Eastern State Hospital. Prior to this hospital incident, authorities noted two other disturbances occurring late on Saturday night. According to investigators, the suspect initially ignited a fire in a field located near a grocery store in Medical Lake. Following this arson, the suspect reportedly entered a nearby residence armed with a rifle, discharging several shots. Subsequently, deputies reported that the suspect proceeded to Eastern State Hospital. There, the suspect shot and killed Colleen Hendrickson Bass in the hospital’s parking lot. Law enforcement officials at the scene then took action, fatally shooting the suspect in order to stop the violence.
