Zai Vyon Frederick Ocie Jackson, a 21-year-old man, passed away due to injuries sustained in a deadly incident. The fatal shooting took place early Sunday morning at Punch Bowl Social located in Cleveland’s Flats.
According to the Cuyahoga County medical examiner’s office, officers responding to the bar-closing call around 2:30 a.m. heard gunshots nearby at the address 1086 W. 11th St.
Jackson was discovered outside the bar and received medical attention from the responding officers before paramedics arrived and confirmed his death.
A 24-year-old man, who police are investigating as a suspect, was treated on the scene and transported to a hospital. Cleveland police spokesperson Sgt. Wilfredo Diaz mentioned that it is still uncertain if charges will be pursued against him.
Preliminary findings from investigators suggest the fatal shooting started as an argument between two individuals.
