STEVEN L. STUMBORG DIES IN FATAL TOLONO CAR CRASH

TOLONO, Ill. (WICS) — The Champaign County Coroner, Laurie Brauer, has confirmed the identity of the person killed in a serious motor vehicle accident near Tolono, Illinois, on September 30th. The deceased has been identified as Steven L. Stumborg, aged 34, who resides in Tolono.
According to reports, Stumborg was declared deceased at the scene shortly after the collision involving two vehicles happened at the intersection of Route 45 and 600N. Emergency services arrived at the location around 7:10 PM and pronounced the man dead by 7:32 PM that evening.
An autopsy has been officially planned for the deceased. Law enforcement authorities, specifically the Champaign County Coroner’s Office and the Illinois State Police, are currently investigating the incident.
The motor vehicle crash resulted in the temporary closure of the affected road. Traffic was halted for several hours before the thoroughway was reopened at approximately 1:30 AM on the following day.
No additional information regarding the circumstances of the fatal accident has been made public at this time.
