Fatal Wethersfield car crash deaths of Joshua Gonzalez and Edwin Abraham Guzman
A significant traffic incident occurred in Wethersfield, Massachusetts, resulting in the loss of two lives. The accident involved a vehicle that experienced a severe rollover on Route 5 and 15, an event that transpired late on a Friday evening. According to local authorities, a 22-year-old driver, identified as Alexis Joel Garcia from Springfield, is believed to have been impaired at the time of the accident. Garcia’s black Infiniti G37 lost control, crossed the roadway, collided with protective barriers, and subsequently descended a steep incline into a wooded area. The two occupants of the car, both residents of Massachusetts, sustained serious injuries in the collision. Emergency responders located the victims outside the wreckage and transported them to a medical facility, but their conditions were ultimately critical. Tragically, they were pronounced dead upon arrival at Hartford Hospital. Garcia, who suffered only slight injuries, declined to seek medical treatment despite failing a sobriety assessment. Consequently, he was taken into custody and is being held without posting bond. The affected section of the highway was temporarily closed to the public but has since been cleared for traffic. Officials have encouraged anyone with relevant information or dashboard camera footage to reach out to the Connecticut State Police for further assistance.
