Fatal Orangeburg County car crash death of Tyrone C. Tyler and Audrey Hill

Orangeburg County Coroner Sean Fogle has officially identified the two victims killed in the early Saturday morning fatal collision. The deceased include 55-year-old Tyrone C. Tyler, identified as the moped driver, and 70-year-old Audrey Hill, identified as the passenger.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the fatal accident occurred on Friday at 2:25 a.m. on US 301, close to Jernigan Drive. The crash site was approximately one and a half miles from the city center.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol reported that two individuals on a moped were traveling south when they were struck from behind by a 2021 Kia sedan.

Law enforcement confirmed that both people on the moped lost their lives at the scene of the accident. Fortunately, no occupants were injured in the car that was involved.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the incident to determine the full circumstances surrounding the fatal collision.
