Fatal Boulder, Utah motorcycle crash death of Leslie Powers
The Department of Public Safety confirmed that the individual killed in a fatal accident near Boulder on Thursday has been identified. Leslie Powers, a resident of Draper, Utah, was the victim.
The incident occurred on October 2 at approximately 12:15 p.m. When DPS officers arrived, they found Powers riding a motorcycle on SR-12. According to reports, a witness observed the motorcycle traveling at an unusually high speed as it approached a curve in the road, heading to the left.
Court records from the Utah Highway Patrol detail that Powers, a 75-year-old motorcycle operator from Draper, was killed at a crash scene located near Boulder on October 2, 2025. A photograph of Powers on the motorcycle was included with the official report.
Investigation revealed that Powers was unable to properly navigate the curve. The DPS stated Powers veered off the road to the right after failing to handle the leftward curve. The motorcycle reportedly struck a roadside marker before leaving the shoulder and entering a wooded, hilly area.
Officials confirmed that Powers was ejected from the motorcycle during the incident and sustained critical injuries.
