Investigators with the Corpus Christi Police Department confirmed the identity of the deceased following a serious head-on collision that took place late on Saturday night. The woman, identified as 51-year-old Cassandra Clark, was the wrong-way driver involved in the incident.
The collision is being examined by authorities after occurring around 11 p.m. on a specific section of Park Road 22, located near Whitecap Boulevard on Padre Island. According to preliminary findings, one driver had deviated from the correct direction, proceeding westbound in the eastbound lane before the head-on impact occurred.
Tragically, Ms. Clark did not survive the severe injuries she sustained during this collision. The other vehicle involved in the incident contained two individuals who were transported to a hospital; however, their injuries are not considered life-threatening at this time.
The Corpus Christi Police Department has confirmed the ongoing nature of the investigation into this fatal accident.
