Paul Allen Mills dies in fatal Montgomery County car crash
Fatal Montgomery County car crash death of Paul Allen Mills
Emergency dispatches reported an incident occurring shortly after 7:30 PM on Highway 2090, situated east of Tommy Smith. Responding personnel from the Caney Creek Fire department found one man on the ground, while another individual administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Law enforcement agencies, including DPS and MCSO, dispatched to the scene shortly after alongside MCHD. Tragically, the male victim did not survive the night.
Preliminary information gathered by DPS indicates a male, belonging to his fifties, had operated a golf cart from within the 12000 block area of Crockett Martin before reaching the crash location on FM 2090 near Tommy Smith. The golf cart reportedly lost its fuel supply while partially occupying the eastbound lane, without displaying any lighting or reflective devices. Separately, a driver of a Ford F-150, transporting five minors, was traveling eastbound on the same road. Given the approaching darkness, this driver failed to spot the stationary golf cart and the male standing beside it. The subsequent impact from the F-150 resulted in the victim being propelled by the struck golf cart. Following the collision, the F-150 driver promptly halted and returned to the injured male. Before emergency medical services arrived, this individual performed CPR until the victim was extricated from the golf cart.
DPS officials have stated that excessive speed was not considered a contributing factor to this collision. Further details reinforced that the involved golf cart lacked proper illumination or reflective capabilities. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its probe. The deceased, identified as Paul Allen Mills, a local resident of Conroe, was subsequently transported to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for a postmortem examination. Around 10:30 PM, clearing the scene, dispatchers received notification of another critical incident on SH 242.
