RIVERSIDE COUNTY, California (KABC) – Three individuals lost their lives in a serious traffic accident on a major roadway in Riverside County on Saturday. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office has officially announced the identities of those who perished.
The deceased have been identified as 25-year-old David Thompson from Bakersfield, 58-year-old Robert Miller from Fontana, and 30-year-old Jennifer Parker from Rancho Cucamonga.
Three fatalities, driver involved in head-on collision near Fontana
On Saturday, October 4, the California Highway Patrol received a call around 12:45 p.m. about a single-vehicle crash on Highway 171, located west of Mountain View Road.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a pickup truck and several smaller vehicles occupying the road in both directions.
According to the CHP, initial reports suggested that a 2015 Ford F-150, driven by Thompson, was heading eastbound on Highway 171.
It is reported that for reasons not yet determined, Thompson crossed into the opposite lane and crashed head-on into a passenger car.
The CHP indicated that the other driver was ejected from their vehicle and suffered critical injuries. Medical personnel arrived on the scene but were unable to save the lives of all three occupants involved in the incident.
This situation is currently under investigation by the authorities.
