Fatal Warren shooting death of Brad Bailey

Dispatch records from Trumbull County revealed that the victim, Brad Bailey, was allegedly involved in a multi-agency pursuit following an early Sunday morning incident tied to an officer-involved shooting. According to dispatch logs, Bailey reportedly threatened and assaulted a 911 caller and others inside a residence in Bristol Township. Brad Bailey was identified as the suspect by family members of the deceased to 21 News.

The victim’s wife, Sarah, stated her husband was experiencing a mental health crisis. She explained, “This was not my husband by any means, he became very violent and very physical.” 911 logs show Sarah reported that Bailey had choked her and taken all the phones from the house. Before sheriff deputies arrived, Bailey fled the scene in a vehicle. The Champion Police located Bailey on Old Colony Drive and State Road. Chief Larry Skaggs indicated Bailey sped away upon seeing officers.

The pursuit continued into Warren near Fourth Street. Although the exact sequence of events is unknown, dispatch reports stated officers believed Bailey had a weapon. The call log reported Bailey aimed a gun at officers before approaching a police vehicle window with the weapon drawn. Dispatch logs indicate shots were fired and Bailey was struck. Despite attempts at CPR, Bailey showed no signs of life and was transported by a coroner’s van.

Warren’s Fourth and Fifth Streets were closed due to the multi-agency operation, with numerous law enforcement agencies present when 21 News arrived on the scene. Family members expressed their desire for information, saying they had not received notification of Bailey’s death and wished for clarification about the incident’s conclusion. Patricia Clark, Brad Bailey’s mother, spoke while holding a sweatshirt and shirt, stating these were the only possessions she had left of her son.
