A man was killed late on Sunday night following a disturbance on Pittsburgh’s South Side. The fatal incident occurred along East Carson Street, specifically between S. 12th Street and S. 13th Street, shortly after 10 p.m. Curry Brown, the owner of Smoke Goodies, stated he was inside with a customer when the gunfire began outside. Law enforcement officers present in the vicinity when the incident occurred attended to the scene and located a 33-year-old man suffering from a neck wound. The medical examiner confirmed the deceased as Steve Robertson.

Emergency medical technicians provided initial care before transporting the injured man to the hospital, where he was pronounced deceased just before 10:30 p.m. Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Sergeant Adam Pernelli indicated the timing of the event, occurring during a busy period on the South Side, elevated concern, but noted officers reacted swiftly and effectively, preventing the scene from becoming unmanageable.
