Fatal FRESNO pedestrian fatality involving Edward ROUW

The Fresno County Coroner’s Office has officially identified the man who died after being struck while crossing the street on Sunday. The deceased is identified as 59-year-old Edward ROUW, a resident of Fresno.

According to reports from Sunday, October 12, at approximately 7 p.m., ROUW was in the process of crossing Blackstone Avenue, located just south of Clinton Avenue. He was not using a designated crosswalk during this incident.

Investigators involved in the case report that ROUW entered the northbound lanes of Blackstone Avenue while crossing eastbound. They noted that he failed to yield properly to oncoming traffic. Subsequently, he was hit by an oncoming sport utility vehicle.

Emergency medical services were dispatched to the scene and provided aid to ROUW immediately after the collision. Despite the medical attention, the fatal injuries sustained in the incident proved to be too severe, resulting in his death.
