The Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office has confirmed that the 31-year-old man killed on October 15 was Damere T. Boddie, originally from Akron. Authorities were dispatched following a report of gunfire occurring around 1:55 p.m. at a house located in the 500 block of Mohawk Avenue. Upon their arrival, officers found Boddie suffering from a gunshot injury. He was taken to Summa Health Akron, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries there. According to Gary Guenther, the chief investigator for the medical examiner’s office, Boddie’s death was attributed to gunshot wounds in the neck.
Police indicated that a vehicle suspected to be connected to the event may have fled the scene, heading towards Case Avenue and Newton Street. Akron Police Department continues their investigation into this incident.
