Fatal George car crash death of Carlos Rodriguez

Law enforcement agencies in Washington have officially confirmed that the individual who perished was 26-year-old Carlos Rodriguez from Brookings, South Dakota, following a collision between two motor vehicles on State Route 281 near George earlier this month.

Investigators stated that on October 7, around 10:30 a.m., Rodriguez was piloting a 2016 Honda Accord and moving north on State Route 281, approximately two miles north of George. The car then crossed the center divider and collided directly with a 2022 Freightliner semi-truck, causing it to depart the road and land in a nearby ditch.

Officials added that Rodriguez was not secured by a seatbelt during the incident and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The operator of the semi-truck, a 30-year-old woman from Puyallup, Washington, sustained no injuries. Both vehicles involved in the accident were completely destroyed based on the initial damage assessment.

George, situated along the path of Interstate 90 in central Washington, is roughly 150 miles east of Seattle and 130 miles west of Spokane.
