Fatal Tunica Lake drowning death of John Reeves
Emergency services were dispatched to the Tunica Lake area after receiving a report prompting their involvement there on Wednesday afternoon. Responders arrived promptly at the boat ramp situated within Nel-Win Camp on the Tunica Cutoff, just shortly after 1:40 p.m.
During their assessment, officials located a truck connected to a trailer submerged beneath the water’s surface. On the lakeshore, they found a man who had lost responsiveness. Medical personnel from Pafford Emergency Medical Services provided on-scene treatment, yet despite their efforts, the Tunica County Coroner confirmed the man was deceased.
Further examination identified the individual as John Reeves, who was 79 years old and lived in Tunica, Mississippi. The Tunica County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information from the public, asking anyone with relevant details to contact them at (662)363-1411.
