Grace Smugereski, a resident of Olyphant, Lackawanna County, passed away as a consequence of a fatal car crash.
The Lackawanna County Deputy Coroner officially identified the individual who lost their life in the intersection collision on Friday morning as 82-year-old Grace Smugereski.
According to law enforcement, a collision occurred earlier that morning, involving an SUV and a truck, which resulted in the death of a woman as she crossed the street.
Olyphant Police Chief DeVoe informed 28/22 News that two motor vehicles were involved in the incident at approximately 7:00 a.m. on October 17, situated at the corner of East Lackawanna and Adams Avenue.
A report from the police indicates that the truck had stopped behind a stop sign, only for the SUV to approach from Adams Avenue at excessive speed, disregard for the stop sign, and subsequently strike the truck.
The impact from the SUV then caused the truck to collide with a woman crossing the street. Medical personnel pronounced the woman deceased at the location.
