According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, a woman originally from Alexandria but residing in Calhoun County was killed in a collision involving two motor vehicles on the morning of Saturday.

The 60-year-old victim sustained critical injuries after the vehicle she was piloting, a Nissan Rogue, collided directly with a Jeep Patriot. This serious incident occurred at approximately 6:35 a.m. on Alabama Highway 21, close to the intersection with Garrison Lane, a location situated to the northeast of Talladega.

Emergency medical services responded swiftly to the scene. While the occupant of the Jeep vehicle involved in the crash was transported via helicopter to UAB Hospital, the official status of their health remains unknown. The other driver, who was in the Nissan Rogue, also received airlift medical treatment.
