Fatal Philadelphia shooting death of Sied Ali-Young
According to the Philadelphia Police Department’s official statement, a 27-year-old man named Sied Ali-Young was pronounced dead at a hospital following gunshot injuries sustained at the 15th Street/City Hall SEPTA station in Center City. The incident occurred on the morning of Friday, October 17, 2025, approximately at 7:00 a.m.
Upon arrival at the scene, responding officers discovered the victim in the station’s lower level, suffering from a chest wound believed to be caused by a firearm. Medical personnel from SEPTA’s service were dispatched to provide initial aid before transporting him to a hospital. Despite the medical attention received, Sied Ali-Young succumbed to his injuries around 10:43 a.m.
Separately, authorities identified the suspected individual responsible for the shooting as a 27-year-old man named Dawiz Idris Munson. According to reports, Munson voluntarily reported to the police station where he confessed to the shooting and surrendered the weapon used in the incident.
Following his arrival at the station, police placed Munson into custody. He was formally charged with the crime of murder, along with other related offenses connected to the fatal shooting.
