Fatal St. Croix shooting death of Hoedelair Germaine
The Virgin Islands Police Department was alerted on Friday night after someone was shot at Bienvenido’s Bar in Estate Profit. This resulted in a murder investigation by the Major Crimes Unit. A police spokesperson acknowledged that emergency dispatchers received a notification around 11:53 p.m. on October 17.
When police reached the scene, emergency responders discovered a man lying on his back inside the bar. The man showed no signs of life, according to the police report. EMTs arrived later and pronounced the man dead at the scene.
A family member identified the deceased as 49-year-old Hoedelair Germaine. As of Saturday, no arrests have been made in this case. Officials stated that the Major Crimes Unit is handling the investigation. A motive has not been determined by authorities.
