Fatal Ridgeville car crash death of Sylvester Stinson
The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office confirmed the identity of the individual who died in a motor vehicle accident on Sunday afternoon. Sylvester Stinson, a 45-year-old resident of Walterboro, was identified as the deceased.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the fatal collision happened when a Ford pickup truck traveling west on Cypress Campground Road in Ridgeville lost control. The patrol reports the vehicle went off the road to the right, then overcorrected and went off the road to the left before rolling over. Stinson was the only occupant wearing a seatbelt in the vehicle and died at the scene from his injuries.
This incident is currently being investigated.
