Fatal Ramona car crash death of Kathleen Mess
Ramona authorities have officially identified the seventy-six-year-old woman killed last weekend. The incident occurred when a vehicle collided with the motorized scooter she was using on a poorly lit street.
According to reports from the Medical Examiner’s Office and the California Highway Patrol, Kathleen Mess was traveling north on Main Street at approximately 4:55 a.m. on Sunday. A 2014 Toyota Camry rear-ended her three-wheeled mobility scooter near the intersection with Julian Street.
The force of the collision caused her to be thrown from her vehicle. Mess sustained critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
California Highway Patrol Officer Jasmine Lopez confirmed that intoxication was not a contributing factor to the collision. The investigation continues.
