Fatal Bontoc car crash deaths of Rogelio Dela Cruz, Jessie Galicia, and Zoren Jay Tala
Officials have confirmed the identities of those involved in a serious vehicle collision. The accident took place on Monday, October 27, early morning, along the Bontoc-Tabuk Enrile Road in Barangay Tocucan.
Emergency response teams from Bontoc reported that the collision involved a blue elf truck, a red Fiera sedan, and a smaller dump truck. According to reports, the elf truck apparently drove off a road and landed in a deep ravine, with water from the Chico River covering the area. The depth of the ravine is believed to be between 150 to 170 feet.
Three bodies were located at the scene and pronounced deceased by medical examiners. The identified deceased are Rogelio Dela Cruz and Jessie Galicia, who are from Pangasinan, and Zoren Jay Tala from Zamboanga. Their remains were transported to Bontoc General Hospital for further examination.
Investigators stated that the individuals were workers from Balintaugan Construction. They were en route to a construction site located in Kuro-Kuro, Sadanga, in Mountain Province when the accident happened.
Search and rescue personnel are still actively looking for two missing people. These passengers have been identified as Carlo Ancheta and Edmund Romeo, both from Pangasinan.
