Fatal Roanoke car crash death of Andrew Marciniec

According to Roanoke Police, a 26-year-old man has been identified as the victim in a serious traffic incident that happened on Friday, October 24. The man, Andrew Marciniec from Raphine, passed away at a hospital due to the injuries he sustained. Police were called to the Orange Ave and Plantation Rd. NE intersection at 4:33 p.m. on that day.

Preliminary inquiries suggest the first driver involved was speeding and rear-ended the vehicle in front, which was slowing down for traffic. This later-car collision caused a domino effect. The second car struck the rear of the third vehicle, police reported. That third car then collided with a fourth vehicle behind it.

Further along the chain, the fourth car pushed forward and slammed into the back of a fifth car. The same fourth vehicle then hit the sixth car from the rear. The sixth car, in turn, collided with a seventh one, according to the Roanoke Police Department.

Officers stated that the drivers of the first and sixth cars involved in the accident were transported to a medical facility. They are not expected to face serious consequences.
