According to authorities, a 19-year-old man named Rashard Brown lost his life following a collision where his vehicle crossed into the opposite lane on the city’s Southeast Side. Brown, a resident of the Southeast Side, was involved in the accident which occurred on October 24 around 4:38 p.m. at the intersection of East Innis and Kelton avenues.
Police records indicate Brown was operating his 2018 Honda Civic traveling eastbound on East Innis Avenue, nearing Kelton Avenue, at the time of the incident. The other vehicle involved was a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck being driven westbound on East Innis Avenue, also approaching Kelton Avenue.
The official police report stated that Brown’s car deviated from its lane and collided head-on with the Silverado. Following the crash, Brown was transported to OhioHealth Grant Medical Center in critical condition. Tragically, he was pronounced dead at the hospital at approximately 5:19 p.m. The driver of the pickup truck received medical attention and was admitted to the same hospital in stable health.
