Tiffany Reiner Dies in Fatal Louisville Shooting
Fatal Louisville Shooting Death of Tiffany Reiner
Louisville authorities confirmed today that Tiffany Reiner, 45, has passed away as a direct result of injuries suffered in a recent shooting incident. The event transpired in the early hours of Monday morning.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office officially identified Tiffany Reiner as the victim who succumbed to her gunshot wounds. Her death occurred at the University of Louisville Hospital. The incident began as a shooting involving two individuals.
According to the Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD), officers were dispatched to a location near Ridgecrest Road following reports of gunfire around 2 a.m. Upon arriving at the scene, police found one individual already injured from a prior shooting. Before medical aid could be administered to this injured person, they approached the officers.
The injured individual allegedly disregarded commands to surrender their weapon and brandished a handgun towards the responding officers. In self-defense, an LMPD officer fired their weapon and discharged it at the man. This officer was later identified as Hunter Weaver, who has served with the department for two years.
Both individuals involved in the incident were transported to UofL Hospital in critical condition. Tragically, both succumbed to their injuries. While Tiffany Reiner was the primary shooting victim, the man, later identified as Frank Aguilar, 20, also died as a result of being shot by LMPD officers.
An ongoing investigation by LMPD’s Public Integrity Unit is examining the circumstances surrounding this fatal encounter. The department has indicated that body camera footage from the scene will be made available within ten business days.
