Fatal Charlotte shooting death of Amari Cooper
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police responded to a medical call in the early morning hours, reports indicate. Around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, officers were dispatched to assist emergency medical services in the 6100 block of Old Plank Road in the north Charlotte area. Upon arrival, authorities found a female patient suffering from injuries sustained from being shot. The 17-year-old victim, identified as Amari Cooper, was transported to a nearby medical facility. Tragically, she did not survive her injuries and passed away later that day. Police confirmed her identity on Saturday evening. At this time, law enforcement has not released any information regarding potential motives or suspect apprehension.
