Deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to the specified address on Halloween night regarding reports of a shooting. The location involved was the 25000 block of De Wolfe Road in Newhall. Upon arrival, officers encountered two individuals with gunshot injuries affecting their upper bodies, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau.
The first victim, identified as Harts, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s office confirmed the death shortly after the incident. The second individual, a 27-year-old Hispanic male, was transported to a nearby hospital. As of Saturday evening, he remained in critical condition.
Investigators suggest the incident originated from a confrontation during a nearby Halloween celebration. Two males were last observed fleeing the area in an unknown direction.
