Fatal Louisville car crash death of Christian Shively
Emergency responders arrived shortly after the stroke of midnight on Tuesday morning following reports of a collision along I-64 Eastbound intersecting with I-65. Upon arrival, they discovered a multi-vehicle situation unfolding.
The initial incident involved a Hyundai Sante Fe colliding with the rear of a Land Rover, with the impact occurring at a considerable velocity. The operator of the Hyundai, identified by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office as Christian Shively, exited the vehicle and sought to escape on foot.
Tragically, Shively was subsequently hit by another driver traveling along I-64 Westbound. The impact resulted in his immediate death, as confirmed by medical personnel at the scene.
The occupant of the Land Rover sustained no physical injuries. The individual whose vehicle caused the fatal collision to Shively remains anonymous for now, with authorities indicating no charges are anticipated in this instance.
