Fatal Hanover Township car crash death of Aaliyah Jones
A Hanover Township resident, identified as Aaliyah Jones, the 32-year-old female involved in the fatal Sans Souci Parkway incident, has been confirmed by Luzerne County Coroner Dion Fernandes following post-mortem examination held Monday.
The collision involving two motor vehicles took place on the Sans Souci Parkway, close to Linden Drive, occurring just before midday on Friday. Preliminary reports suggest Jones, who was moving south in the passing lane, was directly struck from the opposite direction by another driver.
A male occupant of that other vehicle, along with a female companion and a young child, received medical attention and were taken to a nearby hospital.
Officials at the scene recorded Jones’ death immediately. The local law enforcement agency, Hanover Township police, is conducting a probe into the causes behind this head-on collision.
