Authorities are examining the case after a female individual was discovered deceased following a welfare inspection in Crossville, a statement from the Public Information Officer Gary Howard revealed. The tragic event transpired on Monday, with law enforcement personnel arriving at the premises located at 7119 Big Horn Drive around 9 p.m. Central Time. Prior to the arrival of Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office deputies, officers from the Lake Tansi police department had visited the residence, only to find Linda Spivey, who was 76 years of age, deceased.

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, and the 13th Judicial District Attorney’s Office are collaborating on the investigation into the death. According to the sheriff’s office, a 59-year-old man named Kenneth Spivey, residing in Walla Walla Trace, is responsible for the murder of the woman, who is identified as his mother. Kenneth Spivey has been taken into custody. He has been formally charged with first-degree murder and is currently held at the Cumberland County Jail with a bond set at $1,000,000.
