A young driver turned south onto Maple Street from River Street, colliding with pedestrian Bruce Allen in a fatal intersection accident, authorities reported. This collision occurred at approximately 7:48 a.m. on October 30, leading to the pedestrian’s death on November 1. The Manistee City Police Department confirmed that Allen, a 66-year-old Manistee resident, was involved in the incident.
Emergency responders from the Manistee City Fire Department provided urgent medical attention at the scene, and Allen was subsequently taken to Munson Manistee Hospital in a critical condition. The police stated that neither drugs nor alcohol are considered potential factors in the crash, as indicated by their ongoing probe.
The Manistee City Police Department emphasized that the investigation remains active and will be reviewed by the Manistee County Prosecutor’s Office for further action. In addition, the police expressed their sincere condolences to the Allen family during this distressing time.
