According to Kathy Barnes, who is the sister of Marcouriel, he was the proud parent of three children. Barnes expressed the community’s belief that the person who fired the weapon and led to Marcouriel’s death was likely someone Marcouriel had previously helped. Barnes mentioned that Marcouriel had even provided shelter to the suspect. The St. Louis Police Department confirmed ongoing investigations and stated that they are working towards apprehending the person responsible for the fatal shooting on Alabama Avenue.
