A female pedestrian lost her life after being struck by a vehicle, and the incident, which occurred in Ocean Township on Tuesday, November 4, is now being examined by law enforcement. The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s office confirmed the details of the fatal accident.
On the afternoon of November 4, at approximately 5:36 p.m., police from Ocean Township were dispatched to the area at the intersection of Route 35 and Sunset Avenue following reports of a collision. The investigation uncovered that the pedestrian was crossing Sunset Avenue from east to west when a 2024 Infiniti SUV, traveling north on Route 35, collided with her.
The deceased individual, identified as Amatullah B. Morejon, was 26 years old. She was transported urgently to Jersey Shore University Medical Center but was pronounced dead at the hospital around 6:31 p.m. that same day.
The male driver involved was not detained at the scene. A joint inquiry is underway, coordinated by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, the Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team, and the Ocean Township Police Department.
