Fatal Charlotte car crash death of Lorin Elizabeth Manley – Obituary

Authorities have confirmed the identities of those involved in a deadly vehicle collision in south Charlotte that left two people dead and two others seriously injured.

 

Emergency responders were dispatched Saturday evening around 7:46 p.m. to the 7000 block of Ardrey Kell Road after reports of a serious crash. Upon arrival, MEDIC crews discovered a 2011 Honda CR-V that had veered off the road and suffered severe damage along its right side.

 

The driver of the SUV, Lorin Elizabeth Manley, was found unresponsive. A passenger, Gloria Jeane Manley, along with a juvenile occupant, were also unconscious at the scene. The child was rushed to a local hospital with injuries described as life-threatening.

 

Both Lorin Elizabeth Manley and Gloria Jeane Manley were pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel.

 

Police officers with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department also located a second vehicle involved in the crash, a 2013 BMW 335i, which remained on the roadway with major front-end damage. The BMW’s driver, identified as Jason Scott, was transported to the hospital suffering from serious injuries.

 

Investigators have indicated that excessive speed may have played a role in the collision. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to determine the full circumstances surrounding the crash.
