Fatal Decatur, Illinois shooting death of Timothy King – Obituary

Timothy King, a 32-year-old man from Chicago, was killed in a shooting on Christmas night in Decatur, authorities confirmed.

Decatur police officers responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 5:07 p.m. in the 900 block of West View Street. When officers arrived, they discovered Timothy King suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

The Macon County Coroner later identified King and pronounced him dead at the scene. Police have not released details about what led up to the shooting.

No suspects have been taken into custody, and investigators say the case remains active. The Decatur Police Department is urging anyone who may have information related to the incident to contact police or reach out anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
