Authorities in Nashville have identified a young mother who was killed in a tragic accident on Bell Road the day after Christmas. The victim was 20-year-old Kira Phillips.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, Phillips was crossing the continuous left turn lane on Bell Road around 5:40 p.m. on December 26 when she was struck by a northbound Nissan Versa turning left onto Rice Road. She was then thrown into another lane and hit by a second vehicle. Both drivers remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment. Phillips was pronounced dead at the scene.

Family and friends said they only learned of her death the following day. Those close to Phillips described her as a devoted mother who was planning her young daughter’s first birthday just weeks away. Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the deadly incident.
