Authorities reported that Thomas Ramos, 59, of Alice, Texas, died early Monday in a single-vehicle rollover accident involving an 18-wheeler on TX-44 between San Diego and Alice, roughly 55 miles west of Corpus Christi.

Police stated that slick road conditions caused the eastbound semi-truck to lose control, leading to a rollover. Ramos, a passenger in the truck, was ejected during the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver was transported to a local hospital with injuries that have not been disclosed.
