Authorities in Robeson County are investigating the death of 22-year-old Lacota F. Locklear, who was shot on New Year’s Eve. Deputies responded to a disorderly conduct call in the 1100 block of Oxendine Road in Pembroke, where the incident occurred.

Robeson County Sheriff’s Office reports indicate that 28-year-old Joanna Deese has been charged with first-degree murder and discharging a firearm with intent to cause fear. Deese is being held at the Robeson County Detention Center without bond.
