Fatal Kauai, Hawaii crash death of Talia Jimenez – Obituary

Talia Jimenez, 21, of Koloa, was killed in a single-vehicle accident on New Year’s Day in Kauai. Authorities reported that around 3:30 a.m., her 2006 Toyota truck was traveling south on Kuhio Highway near Wilcox Medical Center when it collided with a stone wall and a utility pole along the shoulder.

Jimenez was the sole occupant of the vehicle and sustained fatal injuries in the crash. Police temporarily closed Kuhio Highway in both directions for approximately three hours to conduct the investigation, while utility crews worked to remove downed power lines.

Officials indicated that speed may have contributed to the accident, and toxicology tests are pending to determine if impairment was a factor. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
